I’ve transferred these 8mm films to DVD, using custom made telecine transfer equipment. I then do some basic post processing in Adobe Premiere, and create clips of the individual scenes. Lastly, I’ve uploaded these to YouTube.com and added royalty free music. All films are inspected and cleaned. I replace old, weak splices and needed, and lubricate your films so they will last longer and transfer with better clarity. Note: YouTube doesn’t fade the music out, so I’ll need to redo these in Premiere.
Birthday Party from 1954
This one is pretty amazing, considering it’s over 60 years old! This 400′ reel had 7 separate clips spliced together. Four of the splices needed repair, and was missing the leader. As always, I cleaned and lubricated the film before transferring.
Birthday Party 8mm Home Movie
This film was shot in 1966. The film is in poor condition, with 9 old splices on a 7″ 8mm film reel. They used masking tape for the splices. I removed the tape and residue, and correctly spliced the breaks, and replaced the film leader.
Vacation Scenes – 8mm Home Movie
Another 8mm film from the same client. This film was in better shape, but was fairly dry and brittle. I lubricated and cleaned the film with FilmGuard before transferring to digital.
